You Want to Quit Smoking. You know There are Lots of Ways Out There. You Have Heard All About The Benefits of Quitting Smoking. The Stop Smoking Workshop Reviews the Best Methods to Quit Smoking and Provides Helpful Tips for Quitting Smoking All in One Place...

Looking for ways to quit smoking?  You know you want to quit, but you also are not looking forward to the process,  right?  It can be tough, I know!  Picking up that cigarette and lighting it…just this once…just one more time…just to calm your nerves and feed the nicotine addiction, is so much easier then the act of quitting.  Well it is not always easy doing something that is worth doing.

In order to quit, some people try laser therapy to quit smoking while others try hypnosis or going cold turkey.  Now, there are I am sure any number of reasons why you started smoking, maybe peer pressure, maybe you liked it and liked the way it made you feel.  I am sure now there are any number of reasons…or rather excuses…as to why you cannot quit.  You tell yourself you will quit tomorrow…it’s always tomorrow, never today.   You feel like you are at least telling yourself that you want to quit and the goal of quitting is there on the horizon, so you sort of pause there, at least taking some satisfaction in your resolution.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean a thing until you put that resolution into action and take those tough steps to quitting smoking all together.

I know your pain.  I was there with you.  Dying for a cigarette, dying for that quick nicotine fix, but at the same time knew that I had to quit.  I was tired of being a slave to that little stick of tobacco and letting it control my life.  Making me have to do things that I really did not want to do…like have to go outside to smoke, like having to run to the store at night to buy a pack when I was out, like smoking a cigarette in the shower even!  Beyond the health risks, beyond the stained teeth and stale odor that lingered on my body, it was when I found out my cousin had been diagnosed with Stage IV throat cancer that scared me into quitting.  That was just too close to home for me.  You see he was a smoker and a tobacco chewer, so it is pretty likely that these habits are what led to his cancer.  It reached Stage IV because with a lack of health insurance (and responsibility) he neglected to see a doctor about his symptoms.  But is having to drink Ensure as your only meal and is having a polyp grow large enough in your throat to where you cannot breath, worth whatever short term benefits you think a cigarette gives you at that moment?  Really ask yourself that.  You always think it won’t happen to you.   Well how will you feel if it did, knowing all you really had to do was make the effort to quit?  Did you know that 1 out of 2 smokers will die prematurely? So you have a 50/50 chance…its like flipping a coin to decide whether you are going to live or die.

Quitting is hard; but maybe not as hard as you think.  These days there are so many methods to quit smoking.  You just have to find the one that suits you.  But don’t give up when you have a relapse.  And don’t think for a minute that you are that one person that can’t quit, because I don’t care if you are smoking 10 packs a day, you can quit.  Believe me when I say that the sense of accomplishment you will feel when you know you have quit is overwhelmingly satisfying.  There are so many beneficial effects when you stop smoking.  You will feel so much pride in yourself, and you know your loved ones will as well.  And if you don’t want to quit for yourself, at least think about those that love you and want you around a little longer.  Use them as a motivating factor if you have to.
